Leaders within our business: Jeanette Bates

One of Realmark’s most accomplished Licensees, Jeanette Bates of Realmark North Coastal, was recently recognised as a finalist in the national Real Estate Business Awards for ‘Mentor of the Year’. Over her career, including seven years with the Realmark group, Jeanette has experienced so much of the real estate industry and navigated various economic cycles. Her experience, however, is only one part of her exceptional leadership ability.

We were lucky enough to sit down with Jeanette and talk about her career and relationship with Realmark.


“Realmark is an integral part of our growth and success. It provides incredible creativity in ideas, which leads to amazing innovation within the group.” Jeanette explain that the business structure, along with analytics, planning and continual training and development is integral to the Realmark business so that we can see growth and success for the entire entity, as well as each office, and each individual. She went on to praise the leadership of the corporate business, saying “their intelligence within the property market is to a level I have not witnessed before which makes the business planning stay ahead of ‘the curve’.

Supporting each business and their individual needs is of the utmost important to the group. Offering tailored and timely solutions is fundamental to the support system that have been developed.

For over 30 years, Jeanette has consistently set the benchmark in the industry, both locally and interstate.

After a rewarding career in education and many overseas travels, it was fate that led Jeanette to settle in Perth. Since then, she has taken the real estate world by storm. Having successfully managed multiple offices and become the youngest female auctioneer in Western Australia early on in her career. Most recently, Jeanette also won Realmark’s 'APRIL' 2018 award, a significant achievement acknowledging her for her strong practice leadership and commitment to the brand.

When speaking about working with the Realmark brand and business practices, Jeanette opened up about appreciation of the continual reviewing of marketing initiatives, as well as systems and processes. “The marketing, the innovation, the care that Realmark has for clients, the team, and each and every person within the business is outstanding” she went on to say. After being in the real estate industry for 35 years, and experience with Ray White and Century 21, Jeanette explained that “I have never had a company that values learning and growth so much and is interested with everyone performing at their best. Realmark provides a positive and supportive work environment in which all of our people can develop and grow”.

This focus on development has been integral to the cumulative success of the Realmark business. After developing tailored mentoring and education programs for our individual business segment streams, Realmark as a group has seen continual advancement and success of our team members.
