A number of the Realmark offices have joined forces in the lead up to Christmas to create a community event raising awareness of their corporate community program True Blue and Starting Over Support (SOS).

SOS was selected as the groups' community program for 2019. SOS is a not for profit organisation that provides families moving on from crisis with essential furniture and household items, helping them to build a new life. Their aim is to create partnerships with the general public, businesses and other organisations to source good quality household items and furniture. They also raise funding to keep up with demand and resource their operation effectively.

Speaking with Realmark Co-Founder and True Blue establisher, Anita Percudani on the initiative to support SOS this year she stated, “When John and I first founded Realmark over 30 years ago, we made a commitment to ensure we give back to the community, we are so proud of all the wonderful causes the network has supported in the past. This year one of our team members alerted us to the wonderful work that SOS does in helping families in crisis start over. Being in real estate it also felt like it was the perfect fit, we have so many clients who are moving home, interstate or downsizing with a lot of items they are looking to rehome, this gave us the perfect opportunity to help source much-needed items and raise awareness for SOS.”

“Across the network, we have seen such wonderful generosity from the people of WA which is truly inspiring. In the lead up to Christmas, we know how hard it can be for families with young children who are already struggling, so we got together with the SOS team to launch a Christmas Toy Drive.”

The Realmark Toy Drive is an initiative the network is running across WA with offices holding collection points for toys to be dropped off for SOS families, any toy of any value is welcomed.

“Following the success of our initial drive and the demand from the community to continue delivering toys, we have extended the initiative to run until Friday 13 December 2019. In addition to this, some of the teams got together to take it a step further, which is where the Community morning Tots, Toys and Tails came from.” added Anita.

On Sunday 8 December 2019, Perry Lakes Floreat will be transformed into a community event where Realmark encourages everyone to bring their children and dogs as well as gifts to donate to SOS. It will be a fun filled morning for all the family with a sausage sizzle, children activities lead by the Sports Kids team, colouring competition, meet and greet with Santa and stands from local suppliers who have dedicated their time and donated to the cause.

Leading the community day will be the Realmark Commercial, Realmark Leederville, Realmark Urban and Realmark Strata offices. The event will take place from 9.30 am – 11.30 am at Perry Lakes between the dog area and playground ensuring all members of the family have a good time.

This is a free community event, the only thing the Realmark team ask, is that if you have a child wishing to meet Santa please bring a gift for your child to receive, and one to donate to SOS.
